Annecy, between lake and mountains: our playground
Why a beanie brand in Annecy, and the places where we wear them most.
MALDA was born in Annecy, in Haute-Savoie, France. Here you go from the lakeside to the first slopes in a few minutes. That urge to be outdoors, all year round and in all weathers, played a big part in creating our beanies.
The lake in winter
When the tourists leave, the lake finds its calm again. On January mornings, mist floats just above the water and the bise soon reminds you that a beanie is no luxury for a walk around the Pâquier.
The mountains next door
Semnoz, Col de la Forclaz, the Bauges massif, the Aravis: there's no shortage of outings, on snowshoes, on skis or on foot. Those days gave us the idea for simple, warm beanies you keep on from the car park to the summit.
And the ocean at the back of our minds
We also love cold sessions by the ocean, when the sea wind stings your ears as you come out of the water. Mountains or ocean, it's the same urge: to be outside and well covered.
